The picture above was taken some time Sunday afternoon. I put $25 into the Pacific Poker account last week to get started and worked my way up over $400. I sent the screenshot to my buddy Glen because I thought it would be enough to pay for my airfare and hotel to Vegas next month. He was considering going and wanted to know if I could make it. I told him if I could just get up to about $700 or $800 then I’d go. Well………….
40 minutes after I hung up the phone I had lost over $100. 2 hours later I had lost all but about $60. 2 hours later I was back over $300. 30 minutes later I was down to $0.
Being on tilt doesn’t accurately describe my state yesterday evening. There were times I wanted to YELL. There were times I wish I could jump through the monitor and beat an idiot to death with his own keyboard.. There were times I wanted to jump off of my 3rd story balcony. And… near the end, there were times when I just wanted to GIVE THAT JACKASS ALL MY MONEY! Come on dude! Just take it, I’M JUST GONNA GIVE IT TO YOU! RAISE AND RERAISE ME AGAIN YOU JACKASS!
There, I feel much better now.
So… what am I gonna do to fix this. Well, I’m gonna get home from work this afternoon, put another $25 in and start all over. I figure small sit-n-go’s is how I built most of that money up in the first place, I need to just do that again.
The positive lesson learned here was that I now know that when I get on tilt, I need to stay away for an hour or so. This isn’t the first time this has happened, and probably won’t be the last… but the great thing about this blog is that I will be able to read this entry sometime in the future and learn from it.
