Don’t get caught with your hand in the cookie jar…

By Spadebeats

I recently started playing very cheap sit ‘n’ go tournaments on Pacific Poker. I would highly recommend this site, but at the same time, heed my warning. DON’T GET A BIG HEAD!

The best part of Pacific Poker is the number of SNG options you can find; anything from $1 + .50 and up. I’ve chosen to play several $2 + .50 tournaments with 40 players. These things are great! You pay $2.50 and have the chance to win $50. Talk about a return on your investment! The problem is, after winning two of them in a couple of hours, I got a little big headed. Up $100 I started thinking I was invincible.

NOT TRUE! I got my hand caught in the cookie jar several times in a row. I tried to steal pots, I didn’t pay attention to people’s betting habits, and I thought that every pair I was dealt was a winner. . I had lost every “all in” hand I was in.

$25 later, my head cleared and I realized I was an idiot. I let winning get to me. Big mistake! Don’t try to change your style because you’re winning. KEEP YOUR STYLE BECAUSE YOU ARE WINNING. I am normally a tight, aggressive player, but with a few wins under my belt, I became a loose-cannon. I played all my hole cards and lost lots of chips. Good thing it was only $2.50 at a time. Thank goodness I didn’t join that $100 tourney!

(I played again last night and the drama is gone, I placed 3rd and 4th in the two I played)
