Online Poker’s Shit is Finally Hitting the Fan

I am getting more and more hits on my site from people doing google and yahoo searches on subjects like:

  • “is online poker rigged”
  • “ultimate bet rigged”
  • “full tilt poker rigged”
  • “poker stars rigged”

I think Online Poker’s greed has caused the entire US online poker industry to implode. I’ve been saying for quite sometime that online poker is rigged at the lower levels. I think the online poker rooms still operating in the US manipulated the programming enough that people are starting to get fed up and simply quit playing. Now, the online poker rooms seemingly are just taking EVERYTHING they can get.

None of my long-time poker buddies play online anymore. I have stopped. Previously, I was averaging 1 MTT win a month. Also, I would regularly cash out between $1200 and $2300 at least once a month. Now, I haven’t had a winning online session in 3 months. Yes, maybe i’m terrible. Many people could argue that, believe me. However, in the past 3 years I’ve been playing online, I’ve never NOT won anything.

Every time I’ve brought up the subject of onlne poker being rigged some guy from the 2+2 forums chimes in and says “why would they have to cheat”. To me, that might be one of the stupidest questions ever. Gamblers, poker players, hustlers frequently go hand in hand. The best poker players in the world will tell you that there is cheating EVERYWHERE. Even in the most upscale establishments. Barry Greenstein mentions this in his book Ace on the River. So, once again, my response is “why WOULDN’T they?” NO ONE IS THERE TO POLICE THEM! And, who has ever done any research on the “independent auditing” companies that validate each online poker room’s software?

Anyway, good luck to you all. I am still playing poker, just no longer playing online. My theories are starting to make more and more sense. You will see, as I predicted early this year, that entries in this year’s main event at the WSOP will be SIGNIFICANTLY less than last year, and probably less than 2005 as well. There are many factors responsible for this. First being the ruling that online sites can no longer directly purchase a seat for a player. However, I think more importantly it is because interest is simply dying down. This is directly related to online poker companies bleeding american low limit players dry by their rigged action flops, shills, etc.
